Bugs & Brew: Free Community Fly Tying Night
One Thursday a month, pull up a stool at UTOG Brewing in Ogden. Hear what trout are eating right now, then tie that pattern alongside David. Free, friendly and beginner-welcome.
Free · one Thursday a month · 6:30–8:30 PM · UTOG Brewing, Ogden · 12 seats
Nov 19 kicks off our first Bugs & Brew. Tying seats are full, but everyone is welcome to come watch and hang out. Next night: Thursday, Dec 17.
How the Night Works
Every night will run the same easy way, 6:30–8:30 PM.
- What trout are eating: a short talk on the bugs on the water that month and how to fish them
- Tie one pattern together: David ties it step by step at the vise, and everyone ties along
- Take your flies home and fish them that weekend
Who It’s For
- Beginners welcome. Never tied a fly? You’re in the right place
- Experienced tyers who want a night out with other anglers
- Small group: 12 seats, so everyone gets help at the vise
Patterns You Might Tie
The pattern changes each month to match what’s hatching. A few examples:
What’s Provided
- All tying materials, hooks and beads
- Step-by-step instruction from David
- Loaner tools if you don’t have your own
- The flies you tie, yours to keep
