Instructional Guided Trips · Full-Day Walk & Wade
Guided Trips That Teach
A private day on secluded water, a mountain stream and an alpine lake, with a guide who shows you how and why, every step of the way.
- Fly fishing for 47 years
- Licensed guide
- First aid / CPR certified
- Ties his own flies
Become a More Self-Sufficient Angler
Every trip with David is an instructional trip. It’s still a full day of walk-and-wade fly fishing, but the focus is on helping you become self-sufficient on the water, so you understand why a spot holds fish and how to fish it the next time you’re on your own.
David is there to educate, not just to put you on fish. Over the day he’ll walk you through river hydrology (how current moves and where trout hold), entomology (what’s hatching and how to match it), reading the water to find fish, and setting up your rig and choosing the right fly, explaining why each approach works as you go.

River hydrology
How current moves, where trout hold, and why.
Entomology
What bugs are hatching, and how to match them.
Reading the water
Finding the water that holds fish, and how to approach it.
Rig setup & fly choice
Building the right rig and picking the fly, with the reasons behind each choice.
Always one-to-one
